Construction Schedule

The Avon Boardwalk Redesign is a civil/ architectural project as opposed to a product design project. Instead of filling out inquiry sheets for needed parts to create a product, I have compiled a schedule of materials which detail what items and how many of each I will need to supplement my design, if built.  After determining that the design calls for 168 of the concrete pilings that I designed, I calculated the amount of concrete that is needed to construct one piling.  I then multiplied this amount by 168 and cam to a total of 10.57 sh tons of concrete.  I then went back to my piling detail and calculated how many of the fasteners are needed to attach the joists to the piling in addition to calculating the number of joists the design calls for.  After I calculated the total amount of joists, I found the surface area the boardwalk will cover.  I used Trex Transcend, the initial product I chose for my intended solution.  I used the company's installation PDF to determine how many additional decking fasteners my design calls for.
